What are my rights if my husband married another woman while we were still married?
Question Details:
I recently found out that my legal husband was remarried in another state and that she has taken his last name. We were still married; there was no divorce filed. He has not answered any of my requests for a divorce in the past. What are my best next steps? What are my rights?

Please make sure that your husband did not file for divorce in his new state and just not tell you. That is a possibility and you need to make sure that is not the case here. If he did then there are issues as to distributiion of marital assets that need to be addressed. Now, if he did not file and obtain a divorce "ex parte" you are still legally married and his new marriage is void. You have all the same legal rights you had as a married couple becuase in essence you still are a married couple. Get some legal help here. Good luck.
