My husband & I separated after 9 years of marriage. The divorce will not be complete till after 10 years, do I still get the benefits of 10 years?

Question Details: My husband and I have been married 9 years. At that time, he told me he doesn't want to be married to me anymore and I moved into my daughters bedroom. He filed for divorce 4 months later. The divorce will not be final till after our 10th anniversary. He told me, I am not entitled to receive the monetary benefits (such as his social security) of being married 10 years, because the separation date was at 9 years. I do not work, as I was diagnosed with CFS before we married. I am unable to get ss on my own because I don't have enough work time in. Is what he says true?
