If I have a credit judgment against me, can I have my name taken off title to my house so that it can be refinanced and I will not have a lien placed on it?
Question Details: My husband and I have a home and both our names are on the title deed and we need to refinance it.

if there is a judgment lien on the real estate, then transferring it out of your name now will not eliminate it. if you are in Indiana then a judgment against only one spouse is not a lien on real estate owned in joint name.
