My friend wishes to relinquish parental rights for a child he may have reared in Kentucky. He's never seen the child. WIll this abolish chld supprt?

No.  Your friend can't simply say, "I don't want to be the daddy" and walk away.

It's true that if his parental rights are terminated, that would also terminate his obligation to pay child support.  However, the only times that voluntary relinquishment of parental rights usually happens is when the mother's husband wants to adopt the child, or the child protective services agency gets involved.

However, until paternity is established, there are no parental rights, and no child support obligation.
