Invasion of privacy?
Question Details:
My ex partner has videos of me that are of a personal nature. He is threatening to put them on internet. Can I do anything about this?
You might want to have a lawyer send him a certified letter warning him that he could be arrested and prosecuted under Section 16-15-305 of the South Carolina Code of Laws, for Disseminating Obscenity. It is a Felony and carries up to 5 years in jail and/or a fine of up to $10,000. If convicted he would be required to register as a Sex Offender.

Although I do not practice law in the State of South Carolina, here are my initial impressions. Your ex-partner's threats may expose him/her to criminal liability, for threatening and/or extortion. I suggest that you document these threats (save emails, texts, voicemails, etc) and consult with a local attorney to develop a strategy to prevent this conduct from continuing. Good luck.
