My daughter used my car in a store theft

Question Details: The store gave the police my license plate number.Now they are asking for my daughters is I gave them her address. Now the police have come to my house and said they are going to impound my car if I don't tell them where she is. My daughter has not spoken to me because she said I'm a rat, so I don't know where she is. Can the police take my car.

I agree with MTD but the important thing for you to know is that you do not have to say anything to the police.  Unless you are subpoenaed and offered immunity (theoretically they may charge you with conspiracy) you do not have to answer any question from the police, the DA or anyone else.

Yes they can take your car -- it was involved in a crime. In terms of once they review it and get what they need, you may need to be persistent (even hire a lawyer) to help you recover it.
