my daughter is going on deversion without getting advice from a lawyer
Question Details: my daughter went to a salon to ask if they would donate there services, because she was going to be in a pageant.she thought they said yes,but it was a mis understanding.they filed a police report and said that was theft of services.shouldn't this be a civil matter?
I am a licensed KS attorney. This matter can be both civil and criminal. I prefer to use diversion as a last resort, not a first option. I would need more information to advise you further. Feel free to email me at sean@roadlawyer.net

It's hard to sort out a case like this sometimes, without hearing everyone's side of the story. Of course, then you have to try and find the truth out of the different versions. Without doing all that, it's hard for anyone to say that it was completely unjustified. I wouldn't think it's likely to be good for the salon's business, though.
Diversion is a safe alternative; going to court is always risky.
