Where do I file for a mediation of visitation?
Question Details: My cuort ordered custody case was filed 9 years ago. I moved out of state 5 years ago and my ex who has primary custody moved to a third state. He and his wife are making it hard for me to stay in touch with my daughter.

You start by re-opening the case where the orders were originally entered. This can be with a simple motion to enforce and/or modify. After the case is reopened, you can then file a motion to transfer the case. Venue will follow the child-- this means that you will probably end up resolving the custody dispute in the state where your ex- lives.
