You still have valid claim to make against the owner of the truck.  Find out who insures the truch and get a claim opened.  The fact that you had no insurance does not matter as far as your property or personal injury damages.  Witnesses would help (but are not necessary) because normally police do not investigate these kinds of accidents on private property.  This is a situation that could proceed smoothly or with some difficulty depending on the attitude of the truck owner.  If you run into resistance, contact an attorney who does accident cases.  The consultation should be FREE.
