If my brother passed away and I am his legal guardian and my sister disowned him 16 years ago, is she entitled to half of his assets?

I am so sorry for your loss. If your brother died intestate - with out a Will - then his estate is distributed via the intestacy statute in your state. Generally speaking, if siblings are going to share in an estate they share equally. So if your brother did not leave a Will and he has an estate to be distributed then yes, your sister may indeed inherit. Please seek legal help. Good luck.
