If your bf was injured within the scope of his employment he is entitled to worker's compensation.  Worker's comp is governed by a statute and permits employees to receive compensation for their injuries.  Worker's comp is a no-fault system, which means that the employee does not have to prove fault as long as he was not acting recklessly or doing something on purpose to get hurt.  Your bf needs to speak to the human resources person or manager to file a claim.  Then he needs to hire a lawyer (who can help him file a claim if the people at his work are not helpful).  A lawyer that specializes in this field will fight for him to be compensated under the statute for his injuries.  You should note however, that there is no pain and suffering damages award in worker's comp cases.  To re-cap, your bf has a claim and needs to take action, including seeing the right doctors.
