My attorneyhas not respond at all to any of my inquiries in one month but does communicate with others. Should I report him?

Question Details: My My patent attorney took my downpayment and my invention material on 9/24/09 and on 10/02/09 promised to get back to me by 10/09/09 with patent search results. I have not heard from him since 10/02/09. Those things can take time but there is no excuse for ignoring the client's inquiries using dead silence! Should I report him to the Bar Association?

if you are in Massachusetts, and you are considering switching to another attorney, or want to discuss this, contact me.

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  Reporting the lawyer to the Bar Association is a harsh route.  I suggest that you write the lawyer a certified letter asking him to provide you with the status as to your petent and call you to discuss the matter.  I woul ask the lawyer to cal you in your letter within 3 days of its receipt.  If the lawyer failed to respond to your vertified letter that explains your frustration, then you will have good grounds to report his conduct.
