What to do if my 3 year old daughter at the time informed me that she has slept in the bed as her stepfather?
Question Details: Her mother confirmed it and was asked by myself to not let it happen again. I then found out that my, now, 4 year old daughter sleeps in the same room as her mother and step-dad but in a smaller bed. Is there any laws against these actions? I find the potential for this to affect my child mentally.
There really isn't anything illegal about it and many parents co-sleep with their children. It is very prevalent in many cultures and personal parenting beliefs. You need to find out if this is an issue of abuse. If you wish to make this a rule, you can certainly try to amend the custody agreement by going back to court. The court will review in light of what is best for the child, and will probably ask if there is a room available for the child and so forth. The issue will be enforcement and how the matter will be enforced to disallow the action you don't like.
