Can a 13 year-old be given a full body search without consulting the parent first?

In order to search anyone the police need to have probable cause or a reasonable belief that the search is necessary under the circumstances.  It would be unreasonable to prohibit the police from searching a minor if they thought that say, the minor had a gun on them and was intent on using the gun against them or someone else.  Minors conceal weapons, unfortunately so.  In other words, a minors rights are balanced against the situation at hand.  If you believe that the situation in which your child was searched was unreasonable and the type of search unreasonable under the circumstances then seek legal counsel in your area.   Good luck.
