I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. If the medical provider obtains a judgment against your mom's estate, which they will, the house may be not be liened becasue the house passed to your dad upon her death. any money in the estate however, may be taken to satisfy the debt.

Are you a lawyer?
