Question Details: I recieved a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct class 1 tonight in az .The officer did not arrest me , but told me that his report would forwarded to the DA for review . I'm worried that I could lose my only means of income ( Disability) if I'm found guilty , or spend more than 30 days in jail/prison. I believe the maximum fine is 6 months in jail , and or $2,500
I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. This a serious matter, especially if your disability is on the line. However, I am not sure whether you can lose your disability as a result of a misdemeanor. I suggest that you hire a lawyer to represent you in the criminal matter and ask that he first look into the issue of whether you can lose the disability for a conviction of disorderly conduct. most lawyers will meet with you intially for free and quote you a fee.

Are you a lawyer?
