What could I be liable for (military lawsuit)?

Question Details:

I'm in the military and I was involved in an accident with another person in the military. No ticket was handed out at the scene. Can he sue me for lost wages and medical even though we have a guaranteed paycheck each month and free medical?

No.  Compensatory damages in a civil lawsuit are for the purpose of "making the injured person whole," not providing a windfall.  Damages for lost wages that weren't lost, or for medical expenses that weren't paid, should not happen.  Depending on the circumstances, though, you might be liable for pain and suffering.

If the other person's injuries damage or end his military career, that could be the basis of a claim for long-term wage loss.  Typically, this would have to be proved by expert testimony by a vocational economist or similar professional.
