What should I do if I am being sued by my contractor's subcontractor's for non-payment?

A company built my garage and I paid them last December. Now 2 companies claim that they didn't receive payment for material from the company I hired and want to file mechanic's lien against my property.
Talk to an attorney. Mechanics' liens are very technical documents, if either subcontractor does not properly perfect their lien, they will be unable to successfully pursue you in court.
Hire an attorney to sue the company that you paid and bring in the other two companies that are claiming that they were not paid. Mechanics lines are usually very easy to file, they last for a long time and they are renewable. Even if they are "unfounded" where you are concerned. If you wait too long the company your hired may close up shop or go bankrupt. Trying to clear it up later rather than sooner is not a good idea.
