Married 27 years, children grown, I'm seeking want divorce, need to know what I'm entitled to

Question Details: I'm want to divorce my husband of 27 years. We own a home, which I moved out of 3 months ago and moved into an apt. He is retired military and receives retirement pay for that the rest of his life. He is employed and earns substantially more than I. No divorce papers have been filed by either of us at this point, but I think it's time we both move forward and go out separate ways. It's not my intent to ruin him or take him for everything. I just want to know what I'm legally entitled to after 27 years of marriage so that I can make an informed decision if I have to be the one to file.
