Lent someone money. They are now paying it back but are making me sign paper. Should I make then sign a paper also or get copy?

Question Details: I lent someone money and they are finally paying it back. Making me sign paper saying transaction happened. Should I get a copy of it or make my own? If I do make my own paper should I add in that the check is legit or something along those lines?
