The age of majority in Kentucky is 18; this is considered to be the age at which a person reaches adulthood. Until then you are legally under your parents control and cannot leave their home without their consent.

However, you can be deemed to have the rights of an adult before you turn 18; you can be "emancipated".  This means that the parents of a child no longer have legal authority over their child.  This can be done by court order.   You would need to prove that you are financially self-sufficient, have a safe/sanitary place to stay, and are generally capable of taking care of yourself on your own.

This is not an easy process but it can be done.  If you leave home without being legally emancipated, your parents can have you forcefully returned back home if necessary.
