Larceny
Question Details:
This is my first larceny charge. I took some money from my college. I was in work study. What can I do for this not to be in my record. I plan to go to med school. I took a total of $800 in cash gave $500 back to the arresting officer.
There are possible plea bargains that can lead to the case ultimately being dismissed completely, if the prosecutor can be talked into such an arrangemetn - called a deferred sentence. Certainly full payment of restitution goes a long way to being able to get such a deal.
If there is such a deal, once the case is dismissed (at the end) then it is possible to file a petition to seal the records so the public no longer has access to them (for background checks etc.)
You should hire a lawyer.
