Judgment says "the receiving parent shall provide transportation", does that mean that he has to go back and forth cause I have full physical?
Question Details:
I just went to court and won full physical custody with the dad having visitations and we share joint legal custody. However the judgment says "the receiving parent shall provide transportation". Does that mean he has to go back and forth because I have physical custody and she lives with me, so technically he is the receiving parent? Or do I need to go and get her when its time to come home cause she lives with me and therefore I'd be receiving her?
When the judgment says "the receiving parent shall provide transportation," it normally means that the person who receives the child in his or her custody has to pick the child up, i.e. when the father's custodial time/visitation starts, he has to come and pick up the child (i.e., he provides transportation from your house to his); when your custodial time starts, you have to come to pick up the child (i.e., you provide transportation from his house to yours.)
Providing transportation this way, you avoid the situation when you bring the child to the other parent's house and the parent is not there to receive the child.
