Most debts are contract claims.  I'm not an Oregon lawyer, but my research suggests that the statute of limitations for these claims, in your state, is six years.

The statute of limitations only covers when a lawsuit can be filed.  The lawsuit itself can continue after the statute has run, and a judgment has its own lifetime that runs from when it is issued (and is usually 10-20 years).
