Early lease termination for job relocation

Is there a new law that due to the recession your apartment complex cannot penalize you on breaking your lease if you relocate for your job?

If there is, I haven't heard about it.  I understand that the recession makes life hard, but that's true for many landlords as well as tenants.

Sometimes, you have to pay double rent for a month or two, to take a better job.  You'll have to decide if it's worth taking the new job anyway (or keeping the one you have, if that's what it comes down to).  The landlord can't be made to pay for your life decisions.  You might want to see if you can find someone to sublease your old place, who the landlord would accept.
