Is there a law that the father has to give support through the pregnancy or at least support the needs?
Unfortunately, there is no law in effect that requires the father to pay support prior to the child's birth. The duty to pay child support arises after birth where there is a valid paternity test that determines who the father is and who it is not. Even if the parties both know who the father is, there is still no law that requires payment. I sugest talking to family members for financial assistance or obtain a job in the meantime. It is important that you keep track of the father's location so that you can at some point in time force the father to pay child support. If the father fails to pay child support he can be put in jail.

Are you a lawyer?
