Is there a law in Florida for the amount of time you should wait to pay for a damage in a fender bender?

Question Details: In a parking lot I backed into someone, very minor damage, I agreed to pay for it, no need for insurance. I have been trying to get the other person to bring the car to the place I found, which is in their vicinity, I have called, texted and e-mail the person numerous times, and I have only been able to speak to them twice. It has been almost a month since the accident, I am still not unable to have this over and done with, all I want is to fix their car and be over with it. Is there a time frame where I no longer am liable for their damage according to Florida law?

Someone whose property has been damaged actually has 3 years to settle a claim for that damage.  They can call you 2+ years from now and you would still be responsible to pay for it.  They also do not need to go to the place you recommend for an estimate.  They can go anywhere they like and get an estimate for damages.  Keep trying.  You might want to send a letter so it can be documented in writing that you are at least attempting to do the right thing.
