Is my wife entitled to my inheritance?

Under article 16, section 15 of the Texas Constitution and Family Code Section 3.001(2), if the inheritance was given directly only you in a will or if you received it under the intestacy statutes (i.e., you parent died without a will but you are the beneficiary of your parent's estate), such property is generally your separate property and your spouse is not entitled to any of it in the event of a divorce.  The full answer to this question is more complex but this is the short answer.
