Is landlord responsible for tenants medical bills etc?

I have been living in a apartment that has mold.The landlord said that it is nothing to worry about. They won't remove the mold. I was in the ER twice because of the mold. I still live at that apartment because of my lease. Is the landlord responsible for the mold and if so for what?
