is it possible to plead the fifth 1 question @ a time?

Question Details: ive been subpoena to a preliminary hearing in a domestic case. the nite i talked 2 the cops i dont remember what was asked & what was said but when the story hit the paper i called the reporting officer n changed a major detail in the story. hes facing serious charges for something he didnt do but now im being threatened with false info to a cop; intent to incriminate someone else & possibly obstruction of justice for changing my story. i dont want to be in trouble for trying to clear my conscience but i cant not speak up and tell the truth. so can i plead the fifth except to say no he didnt?

Although I do not practice law in the State of Pennsylvania, here are my initial impressions.  The general rule is that one may plead the fifth to prevent self-incrimination, in situations including providing a false report.  In your situation, however, you may have already exposed yourself to liability for this crime.  Rather than just going into court and pleading the fifth, I strongly suggest that you hire an attorney at once to help you sort this mess out and to protect your right going forward.  Good luck.
