Is it possible to change the name on a deed without going through probate?
Question Details: The name on the deed now is my recently deceased mother who died without a Will.
I am so sorry for your loss. Generally speaking, no, you can not change a deed with out going through probate. Some one has to be appointed as the personal representative in order to transfer the real property via executor's deed. Good luck.
