is it illegal to open your husband emails?

This is actually a unique area of law given the wave of new technology that allows for pass code protected Internet use and celluar phone use. In Michigan, this is a crime if the spouse who used the pass code or password never had direct  permission to access their spouse's information. The crime is not necessarily the actual snooping of your spouses account, but the unauthorized use of that account.
