Is a nolle prossed case considered a conviction?

Question Details: I was arrested with grand theft charges but enrolled in PTI and completed successfully. My case was nolle prossed and later expunged. Currently applying for a job and don’t know what to answer when the ask if I have been convicted, plead guilty, or plead no contest to a crime. Would any of the three apply to me? Will the case show up in a background check?

If the Expungement was properly completed, i.e. certified copies sent to all parties, the case should not appear on your record.  You may properly answer any question from a private employer as if the incident never happened.
