Is $1500 an acceptable amount for pain and suffering?

Question Details: I was hit from behind by a car while cycling in a bike lane. The driver's insurance company admits the driver was at fault. I didn't suffer major injuries but I do have some significant scrapes and abrasions on my knee and hip, and soreness in my ribs. I'm a physical therapist so I know these injuries aren't major and I didn't see a doctor. The insurance company is paying my property damages, loss of wages, and has offered $1500 for pain and suffering. While I could have joint complications in the future, I feel my biggest loss is the emotional trauma of having to cycle in fear of being hit.

You are a physical therapist, not a doctor.  You didn't see a doctor after you were hit by a vehicle? That is going to lower the amount you will be seeking/actually getting if any on pain and suffering.

We do not serve as your legal counsel, have not reviewed your injuries, the damages, etc. We do not know if you have pre-existing injuries that could impact the numbers.  Every jurisdiction is different, we don't know your age, etc.
