Can an independent contractor be terminated without notice?
Question Details: I am a massage therapist and was working for a chiropractor. One day they asked me to work for less money because of an insurance issue. I said we have an agreed upon minimum, and that was my last day I had a job. We never had a written contract but can they terminate our relationship without any notice?

In the absence of a written agreement of a collective bargaining agreement, you are termed an "at will" employee and your services may be discontinued for any purpose at any time. As long as there were no discriminatory motivations behind your termination, you probably are out of luck
