incompetent counsel

Question Details: my fiance war arrested seven days before he was to appear in court on his first case we hired a lawyer that told us that the new case he could get down to a misdemeanor which to date he has not.my fiance has asked for a preliminary hearing every since he was arrested 05/02/2009 and his lawyer keep refusing he is chged w/drugs and a handgun both cases. i explained to the lawyer that the gun on the second case belong to me and the car the police retrieved the gun from belong to me. the lawyer keep threatning him with the feds trying him to scare him into signing for time without working da cse
