The statute of limitations in a personal injury lawsuit only applies to the current injury.  If you injured the same part of your body in the past, it may affect the amount of compensation you receive for the current injury.  The medical reports regarding the current injury will be very important in determining whether this is a new injury or a flare-up of a previous injury.
