I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  The short answer is yes.  The creditor may garnish your wages and take money from your bank account if it gets a judgment against you.  I suggest that you call the creditor's lawyer and try to figure out a payment plan or settlement to avoid the garnishment/bank execution.
