im going to plead not guilty and take my case to trial, would it be wise to mention that i was mistreated while i was in custody?

Question Details: i was held in a cell for about 7hrs. after that i was stripped of my clothes and had to put on an orange jumpsuit, then i was put in a different cell with inmates that were facing years, i was then assulted by four of them, within 30min. of the incident i was released which lead to believe there was some type of foul play.

DUI / DWI Law Answers

Although I do not practice law in the State of California, here are my initial impressions.  The general rule is that post-arrest treatment (or in this case mis-treatment) has no relevance on guilt.  If you are concerned with making wise decisions, then your ONLY priority should be to hire an attorney if you are planning on going to trial.  Going to trial without legal representation is perhaps the most UNWISE decision you could make.  Good luck.
