If your at fault in an accident, would like legal advice.
Question Details: I taped the back of a persons bumper and the police did't take a police report because the damages was not over 1500 or so just by looking at the damage. However received just one estimate from the person I hit. The person mentioned that she would only get the one because that's where shes going to get the work done at anyway. However the damages are more than what I thought they would be. I'm paying for a new trunk & bumper. I verbally agreed at the tI'me of the accident to pay for damages. By law should there be 3 estI'mates done?
I'm not a Delaware attorney, and the law in your state might be different, but in most places, one estimate from a licensed repair shop is all that's necessary.
Modern cars often don't look damaged at all, after a tail end hit, because the inside part of the bumper crushes to absorb the impact. But the entire bumper assembly then has to be replaced, and it's often surprisingly expensive.
