If you marry in a state other than the state in which you live and you never register the marriage in your state, is it legal?

If you are legally married in another state - the state and county you were married in issued the marriage license and it was filed by the officiant - then you are legally married everywhere.  Your home state will recognize the union. You do not have to register the marriage as you have put it.  Good luck.
