If there a check made out to 3 people and only 2 are able/willing to endorse it, is it legal to deposit the check with only 2 of the 3 names endorsed?

No, I do not believe that there is any way to get around the 3 endorsements and if all are needed and one is forged you could get in to a lot of trouble. You have not given a lot of information here as to the maker of the check. Is it possible to have the check re-written as three separate checks? Or just to separate out the portion of the person who does not wish to sign assuming all esle is right here? Good luck.
