Modification of child support

Question Details:

My husband pays $1700 in child support, the ex-wife does not work, and she has the children call for more money. Why can't she get a job? Are we obligated to give her more money since we pay over half of her income? Can we legally file any of the children on our income taxes?

You may be able to file the children as your dependents depending on how the child support and child custody order is written.  Depending on how long ago the order was executed, how old the children are, and any changes in income, your husband may consider asking the court to amend the order.

You would need to file a motion in order to amend the order, requesting a decrease in support.  Cite the mother's unwillingness to work and see if it helps.
