If I am on juvenile parole and abscond, will the warrant follow me after I turn 18?
Question Details:
I have a possession of marijuana charge that was dropped to a misdemeanor 2 1/2 years ago. I am on parole because of probation violations, no new charges. I have no pending charges and no felonies on my record. I've been told I would have a felony warrant put out. If I turn 18 would the warrant be dropped? or if I turn myself in a few days before I am 18 will I go to adult?
Just because you have turned or will turn 18 does not erase the warrant. You must still adress you juvenile probation officer because you picked up the new charge while under the 18 and while actively on a juvenile probation. Before you speak with the probation department, you may want to contact a criminal defense attorney first.
