If I am going through Chapter 7 bankruptcy, can I seek refinancing for my car loan if my current lender will not work with me?
Question Details: Refinancing involves seeking credit so I don't know if I can. My current lender will not even speak with me about anything - reaffirmation, reposession, paying off the loan, etc.

If you are still going through the Bankruptcy, it is unlikely that you will get a positive response to a refinance. Most lenders require a discharge of debt before thay will refinance, and that assumes that sufficient equity remains after satisfaction of the outstanding balance with the current lender
