If deceased parents did not leave a Will, who gets the house?

Question Details:

The last parent died 10 years ago. The youngest child has taken over and refuses to pay the other living child half of what the house is worth.

I am so sorry for your loss.   Did anyone probate the estates of your parents?  If a person dies with out a Will it is known as intestate. There is an intestacy statute in each state that governs the distribution of the property when there is no Will.  Generally speaking, children share equally.  Get legal help here.  Good luck.
