I was threatened!

Question Details: I was threatened days ago: a man held up his hand, saying I will beat you on the face! (My husband being witness). But I told the police 3days after that, because I am a foreigner and did not know I could ask them for help). Am I possibly win in the court? Here's ont thing: my husband (not I) e-mailed him that night, saying he was still a good man, blabla... in order to clam him down and prevent him from bodily attack to me.But he treated it as evidence! Is it really against us? What should I do now? Thank you! A helpless girl

The police or District Attorney decide on charges so report it to them. They may get the man who threatened you some punishment or treatment to make him not so dangerous to you.
