If I was robbed while at work and the police are asking me to take a polygraph, should I?

Question Details:

I was robbed while at work. The police are asking me to take a polygraph because they have no other suspects at this time. Should I take the polygraph or is this an unreliable tool that may cast doubt where there really is none?

I would speak to an attorney in person before going any further.  If the police are going to the trouble of asking for a polygraph, they clearly view you as a suspect.
