What to do if I was parked in parking lot and hit by 15 year old girl driving alone in with no insurance?
Question Details: Her mother nervously provided handwritten insurance information, which seemed contrived. I filed claim and their insurance company but it didn't honor it because they hadn't paid the bill for that month. I have requested payment, as I have already paid $1,170 for damage repair. Yet I've only received hostile text messages back. Sent letter demanding payment last month; I received a text back stating that they were suing the insurance company and she'd keep me up to date on status of the suit. I know these 2 situations aren't related. I want money. Is small claims my best option? Do I need an attorney?
Forget about their insurance. Either their insurance comes through or it doesn't. I would file a small claims lawsuit against against the driver and her mother for the cost of repair. Do not wait on their dispute with their insurance company. That is their problem, not yours.
