What is the normal procedure for a hit and run?
Question Details: I was involved in a hit and skip accident. I filed a report gave them his license plate number; they found him within a couple of days. He admitted to it but they did not charge him.

The police will usually do an investigation to determine if the drive is criminally at fault. Often times people do not even realize they hit anyone. If the police determine the person criminally at fault, then they seek the local prosecutor to issue criminal charges and arrest warrant.
